Langemark German War Cemetery - Belgium

The Langemark cemetery is located near the village of Langemark, Belgium and is the final resting place of 44,000 Germans that are buried here. Upwards of 25,000 are buried in a mass grave and more than 3,000 student-volunteers are from the 22nd to 27th Reserve Corps. They died between October and November 1914 during repeated attacks in the First Battle of Ypres.

Because of the large number of students, the cemetery was given the name 'Studentenfriedhof'.

Pictured is we’re I did a paper rubbing of a selection of names from the mass burial area.
