The Dairy Cows of France

Driving through northern France you will notice a sweet aroma coming from the fields in late September and early October that can be very overpowering at any given moment.

Your only salvation will be to close all the car windows and for extra relief, turn on the air conditioning full blast.

The Holstien breed seems to be the clear winner with the farmers, but you will also find Montbéliarde and Normande cattle mixed in along the way. Their majestic stance will bring you a comfort in contrast to the vast lonely fields that seem to go on endlessly as you drive from village to village.
